• A social worker is a therapist trained to support individuals, families, and communities through the lens of social justice, looking at how social, economic, cultural, and institutional forces impact a person’s wellbeing.
• They are experts at integrating macro and micro-level awareness more explicitly than MFTs.
• They will support you to talk about anything related to therapy.
A Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC, or LPCC in many states such as California) is a licensed mental health professional who provides psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
They are trained to:
• Help clients work through emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues
• Use evidence-based counseling techniques (like CBT, mindfulness, etc.)
• Support personal growth, relationship health, and career or life transitions
So, when you talk about a professional clinical counselor, you’re referring to a mental health clinician, not a school counselor, and yes, it is therapy.
We see individuals, couples, and families; we offer support groups and workshops too.
*Please note that we do not accept insurance for couples or family sessions, as most insurance plans do not cover this service. Additionally, insurance limitations can disrupt the consistency and quality of care that couples therapy requires.
