Hi, I’m Be Staub (they/them).

I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist at Creative Hearts Collaborative.

Adolescents, Adult, Couple, and Family | English | Fee: $175/$205

We support Asian and multicultural individuals, couples, and families in connecting with their authentic selves and cultivating supportive, thriving relationships and communities.

About Me

A quote that continues to guide me in my career is “Trust the process,” by Shaun McNiff. I see ‘the process’ as life itself, something we learn to navigate rather than control. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients as they learn to trust their own process. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where clients can engage in the creative process to make meaning, express themselves authentically, and connect more deeply with who they are.

My choice to become an art therapist was guided by mentors who modeled a deep appreciation for how creativity helps people communicate and connect. During my training, I’ve learned to sit with the unknown and find connection in moments of isolation. Experiencing grief, loss, and change deepened my empathy for clients who are navigating transition. These experiences continue to inform how I meet clients with respect for their individual journeys.

Who I Work With

I work with tweens (ages 9–12), teens (ages 13–17), adults, couples, and families. Many of my clients identify as LGBTQIA+ or are neurodivergent. I welcome individuals of all creative backgrounds, whether they’re new to artmaking or deeply familiar with the practice. I enjoy working with clients who are open to exploring creativity as a path to self-understanding, expression, and growth.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is person-centered and grounded in art psychotherapy. Sessions blend conversation and creative exploration. I aim to hold a nonjudgmental and culturally humble space for clients while encouraging them to set the pace as we navigate the process together.

Specialties

  • Art Therapy

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

  • Neurodiversity-Affirming Care

  • Intersectional Practice

These areas of focus reflect my commitment to integrating art and therapy in a meaningful way. In another lifetime, if I hadn’t become a therapist, I would have become a full-time fine artist. Still, my art wouldn’t be what it is today without the perspective and insight I’ve gained through therapy work. Becoming a therapist has deepened how I understand people, emotion, and creativity, so it’s hard to imagine one path without the other.
