Hi, I am Brianna Mitjans (she/her)!
I am your compassionate art therapist and the advocate for Asian American mental health.
I became a therapist because I wanted to help destigmatize mental health in the Asian-American community and empower others to explore self-healing through art. My personal experiences as a third-generation Asian-Latina American have shaped the way I approach therapy, emphasizing the importance of exploring the many identities that make up a whole person. A quote that deeply inspires me is, “They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know we were the seeds.” To me, this captures the journey of therapy and the resilience we inherit through generational challenges, reminding us that healing, growth, and transformation are always possible.
About Me
I am an introvert.
A few fun facts about me: my favorite colors are blue, green, and yellow, my go-to karaoke song is “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, and my favorite movie is Spirited Away. Though I’m an introvert at heart, I find deep meaning in connection, whether with clients, loved ones, or even strangers in the community, and I use each day as an opportunity to continue the conversation around mental health.

If I hadn’t become a therapist, I would have pursued being an art teacher, since I believe so strongly in the value of self-expression through art. Outside of my work, I enjoy walking my dog, exploring new cafes, sharing meals with friends and family, and creating art of my own.

In sessions, I take a holistic and collaborative approach, often incorporating art therapy practices to support stress management, anxiety, grief, and identity exploration. I believe therapy is a personal journey unique to each individual, and I strive to create a safe, intentional space filled with curiosity, exploration, and open communication. My goal is to meet clients where they are, whether they are adults, youth, or families, and walk alongside them as they discover new possibilities for healing.
