Hi, I am Chao Zhao!
I am your compassionate art therapist and the appreciator of Creative Hearts.
What inspired me to become a therapist is the power of knowing my limitations in life and still making the most out of them! Through my own healing journey, I know my Ikigai is to create spaces and communities to support others, not to go through what I have been through, and to have the support they deserve in life.
We support Asian and multicultural couples and families in finding each individual's wants and needs and bringing their most authentic selves into their family system, and keep the energy flowing freely.
About Me
My favorite colors are green and pink, and my must-listen Karaoke song is "The Albatross" by Taylor Swift. My top three movies are Interstellar, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022), and The Farewell (2019).
As an art therapist, I know healing isn’t always found in perfectly crafted sentences. It can show up in a brushstroke, a deep breath, or that awkward doodle that says more than words ever could. You don’t need to be “artsy” to work with me, and there will never be an "awkward" doodle existed. Just be curious, courageous, and maybe a little accepting of the moments when we couldn't get it all together.
My team and I work best with ambitious women, Asian millennials, people of color, identity explorers, boundary-setters (and boundary-keepers) with loved ones, and couples navigating multicultural relationships. Whether you're figuring out who you are outside of your parents’ expectations, battling imposter syndrome, wondering if you’re ever enough, or deciding whether to stay in your job or your relationship, we are the ones to help you figure these all out. Fun fact about me, therapy isn't my first career; I made a career transition successfully, so I know how to support you as well.
Let’s make sense of it all, with honesty, creativity, and a little mindful power.
